Response: Geometry is an interesting subject to study because it is easy to see several ways in which Geometry is used in real life. For instance, architects use Geometry to determine feasible roof and special design angles. The lean in the Leaning Tower of Pisa is a good example of how one small error in Geometric calculation can have significant consequences. Another profession which makes use of Geometry is cabinet-making. A drawer must be square in order to open and close properly, and a door with four ninety-degree angles will not fit a cupboard without them. But Geometry does not belong solely in the workplace; it belongs in the home as well. A mother who wants to sew a circle skirt for her daughter must understand the relationship between the desired length of the skirt (the radius) and its circumference. The teenager who wants to paint his room must know how to use the measurements of the length and width of a wall to calculate the necessary quantity of paint. Thus, Geometry's many uses, in the workplace and in the home, make it a valuable real-life tool.
