MC

Memo

Reference: HTS Bank 1

Thank you for accepting this position with our company.

As you know, the plans to get the HTS Bank™ (HTSB) off the ground are stalled until we have an efficient program to handle the banking information.

Your resume and life experience indicate that you have a number of problem solving and interpersonal skills, are able to search the Internet, use application software and programme in Java. This combination is sure to solve the problem.

As you suggested in your job interview, we need you to do the following:

  1. Examine other institutions in the banking industry (and use your own knowledge) to prepare a list of what services are offered by competing banks.  This list could be rather long, hence the name "Long List". This will be a Microsoft Word document. These services should be summarized and referred to generically (loan, etc.) and NOT bank by bank (TD offers these...BMO offers these...).

Please refer to the rubric, Written Presentation ("Long List") Rubric - HTS Memo 1, to see, in detail, what I am looking for.

  2. Based on the "long list", select the 5 most important items that HTSB should implement first. You will present the information on your "short list" in a 5 minute PowerPoint presentation.

You will give reasons on why you chose these particular items and will be able to defend why you did not include others.

Please refer to the rubric, Oral Presentation (of short list) Rubric - HTS Memo 1, to see, in detail, what I am looking for.

MAKE SURE YOU KEEP A COPY OF THIS MATERIAL FOR YOURSELF.

I expect this information to be in my hands on the date listed on the term outline:
Written information
PowerPoint presentation

You will want to refer to the attached documents (Oral Presentation (of short list) Rubric - HTS Memo 1, Written Presentation ("Long List") Rubric - HTS Memo 1) to see in detail what I am looking for.

CC: President of HTSB
